As Miyu speaks of the prejudice she faces and her dream of going to university, and Wakana of her painful memories, the two form a bond. One day, Wakana learns that Miyu has not returned to the home after meeting her mother.

Blending documentary and mysticism, the short film portrays the 100-year history of Kaneyama Town through a junior high student who sees the town’s legendary creature Ryuba, a forestry worker who resettled from another prefecture, and a couple who have watched over the town’s changes while running a garlic chive farm. The film features a total of 185 townspeople whose lives and thoughts are real, not fictional.

Omoricho in Oda City, Shimane Prefecture, is a small town of about 400 residents at the foot of the UNESCO World Heritage site, Iwami Ginzan Silver Mine. Once struggling with depopulation, it now sees an influx of young people and a rise in the number of children. The documentary follows a family who arrived in spring 2024 and their interactions with locals, an annual mountain-climbing event for new first graders, and the daily growth of a father and daughter who relocated two and a half years ago.
